Military Cell Phone Discounts

Department of Defense Handheld Wireless Enterprise Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) Sponsorship Program.  (US Army Press Release)

All Federal Government employees may participate in the DoD Handheld Wireless Enterprise BPAs Sponsorship Program to purchase wireless devices, services, and accessories for their personal use.

Sprint Nextel’s Sponsorship Program offers a 15% military discount on monthly service plans. A two year service agreement must be established or an existing Sprint Nextel service agreement must be renewed for an additional two years to qualify for the discount.  Additionally, receive a free accessory pack on select devices - and there are additional monthly promotions.  With the family plan each additional line after the primary line incurs a $9.99 per line per month add-on charge (includes unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile). The plans allow for up to 5 phones on the same account. The activation and shipping fees are waived. Up to $200 early termination fee applies to each line. AT&T Military Discount offers 15% Monthly Service Charge discount available to active and retired military personnel, 2yr. contract required.  Handset Pricing: Business 2 year equipment price or best retail offer.  Standard IRU validation requirements: Must show valid government employment ID at retail point of sale or validate online with a recognized government email domain (.gov, .mil, et al.) via our online eCommerce site.

T-Mobile's Sponsorship Program offers two phones for free (Nokia 6103 and Samsung T209) and up to a 15% service discount per month. After a $50 mail-in rebate, the Motorola RAZR (Magenta and Silver) and Samsung T509 are free; the Blackberry Model 8700, Blackberry Pearl and MDA are $199.99; the Blackberry Model 7290 is $249.99; and, the Sidekick III is $299.99. The service agreement is for two years, an activation fee ($35-$75) is required and a $200 per line early termination fee applies. Family time plans (minimum 2 lines/maximum 5 lines per plan) pool the minutes together at $9.99 per phone add-on charge per month after the first two phones. The attachment provides the T-Mobile Sponsorship Rate Plans. The BPA number is W91RUS-06-A-0004 and the link to T-Mobile webpage. Verizon Wireless does not participate in the Sponsorship Program under the new BPA (W91RUS-06-A-0001).  However, Verizon Wireless does offer a 15% discount on monthly plans costing $35 and above and 25% off accessories for all Federal Government employees through its Consumer Accounts Department. Verizon Wireless offers three phones for free (CDM 180, PN-120 and LGVX3450). The service agreement can be one or two years. The activation and shipping fees are waived. Family time plans (minimum 2 lines/maximum 5 lines per plan) pool the minutes together at $9.99 per phone add-on charge per month after the first two phones. Go to www.verizonwireless.com/discount and enter in your official military email address (personal email addresses cannot be accepted). Verizon Wireless will send an email link and showing the discounted equipment and rates, as well as allow you to register an existing line of service for discounting. ALLTEL Wireless
ALLTEL users in Virginia and have recently been told that if you pay your bill online there is an "account information" update where you can list the active duty email address instead of your home email and receive a 15% discount on your bill.

American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection® may offer Military Discount Fares in some markets. These offers include discounted airfares, reduced minimum stay requirements, and preferred boarding privileges.  For further information, please call American Airlines Reservations at 1-800-433-7300.

American Airlines currently offers several special discounts that are available exclusively for active-duty members of the U.S. military. These offers include discounted airfares, relaxed advance purchase requirements, and preferred boarding privileges.

In addition, the discounted military fares may be purchased up to a week after reservations are made -- versus 24 hours for most non-military discount fares -- making it easier for military personnel and their families to make travel arrangements.

Also, U.S. military men and women who are participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom are welcome to be American's guests at Admirals Club facilities between flights when they are on emergency or Rest and Relaxation (R&R) leave from their overseas duties. This invitation for complimentary access has been extended through July 31, 2008, at all airport locations that do not have USO facilities. Eligible military personnel in appropriate uniform need only present their emergency or R&R leave forms from Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom to access an Admirals Club location. In addition, the Admirals Club welcomes family members and relatives accompanying military personnel who are part of Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom.

United Airlines continues to support our Armed Forces and their eligible family members, by offering reduced domestic fares applying to U.S. point-of-sale only, for travel through Jul 31, 2008. These fares are for active-duty members of the Navy, Marines, Army, U.S. Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and the Reserves. In addition, your spouse and dependent children are also eligible.

To purchase contact United Reservations at 1-800-241-6522 and identify yourself as eligible for military fares. All passengers eligible for these and other military fares must carry proper identification. For identity verification purposes, these fares are not available on united.com.

US Airways offers special military discount rates to military personnel traveling on an officially excused absence and to discharged personnel within seven days of discharge¹. Special rates are also applicable for military dependents². Special rates are not available to personnel on temporary duty orders traveling to or from their temporary duty station.
