   THE 142d AIRLIFT SQUADRON IS CURRENTLY SEEKING RATED OFFICER FLYING POSITIONS

UPT

 

  • Applications will be accepted annually November through February for the April UPT selection board.  Applications submitted earlier than November will not be considered. 
  • Must be less than 28 years old prior to the UPT selection board.
  • Must have completed a B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited College or University or within one semester from graduating.
  • Eyesight better than 20/70 correctable to 20/20
  • Private Pilots License (will accept solo)
  • Competitive AFOQT and BAT scores.  Average P=70, N=60, Sum of A,V, Q NLT 100
  • Must reside within 150 miles of New Castle, DE and maintain USAF weight and physical standards- Height and Weight Standards

If you meet the above requirements, interested applicants should submit an application package with the minimum following information:

  • A resume detailing work/flying training and experience
  • Certified copy of (all) academic transcript(s).
  • A minimum of 3 letters of recommendation attesting to your character/flying ability
  • AFOQT, BAT and PCSM scores
  • Copy of civilian pilot license
  • Copy of FAA Class 1 flight physical
  • Copy of last page in flight logbook with total time depicted
  • Full disclosure of any aviation related incidents or accidents
  • Full disclosure of DUI, traffic violations, arrests, and convictions.
  • Full length picture in coat/tie or suitable equivalent

.  Please include your email address and an email notification will be sent out once your package has been received.  The UPT selection board will review all applicants and contact the most qualified applicants for an interview.  Consult Baseops.net for pilot requirements and information- UPT   All non-officers selected for Undergraduate Pilot Training will be sent to the Air National Guard's Academy of Military Science in Knoxville, TN for commissioning. The Academy is six weeks in duration. 

Prior Service Military - Rated USAF Pilot/C-130

  • For Aircraft commanders, if Major, date of rank no earlier than 2 years to current year
  • Must reside within 150 miles of New Castle, DE
  • Meet and maintain USAF weight and physical standards
  • Date of separation not greater than 2 years
  • Aeronautical Review Board paperwork completed (if necessary)

Prior Service Military – Non-USAF Pilot/ Non-C-130

  • If Captain, the date of rank no earlier than three years prior to current year. 
  • If Captain, total time>1000 hrs
  • Must reside within 150 miles of New Castle, DE
  • Meet and maintain USAF weight and physical standards
  • Date of separation not greater than 2 years
  • Aeronautical Review Board paperwork completed (if necessary)

 

Prior Service Military – Helicopter seeking Fixed Wing Qualification

  • Applicant must submit UPT package and compete for a UPT slot for the fixed wing qualification
  • Date of Rank to Captain no earlier than 3 years from date of consideration
  • Total time>700 hours, total actual instrument time (mil and civilian)>150hrs
  • No more than 10 years of military service
  • Must reside within 150 miles of New Castle, DE
  • Meet and maintain USAF weight and physical standards
  • Date of separation not greater than 2 years
  • Aeronautical Review Board paperwork completed (if necessary)

 

All Prior service military applications should include at a minimum:

·         A resume detailing work/flying training and experience with a copy of Academic Transcript(s)

·         A minimum of 3 letters of recommendation attesting to your character/flying ability

·         Complete Flight Evaluation history and Officer Performance Reports

·         Full length picture in service uniform without jacket

For non-USAF pilots, look in the Wings of Gold to Silver section to answer general questions-   Gold to Lead .  Due to current contingency operations and deployed personnel, contact the unit with only the most pertinent questions after using the above sources.

NAVIGATOR QUALIFICATIONS (Trainee)

  • Must be less than 30 years old.
  • Reside in the Local Area or be willing to relocate
  • Completed a B.S. or B.A from an accredited college or University or be within one semester from graduating.
  • Eyesight better than or equal to 20/200 uncorrected, corrected to 20/20
  • Have an understanding basic aeronautical knowledge.
  • Competitive AFOQT scores

The 142 Airlift Squadron has opening for Navigators both RATED and Trainees

Interested applicants should:

  • Take the AFOQT.
  • Arrange for an interview with the Navigator hiring board by sending an e-mail to flying positions.
  • Have a  copy of Academic Transcript(s), and at least two letters of recommendations.
  • Be prepared for a flight physical.
